GJR Literacy LLC is operated by Gerrit Jones-Rooy.

This Privacy Policy applies to both websites and the related online services described above. Separate agreements may apply to coaching, family support, school partnerships, or other customized services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of our course platform, and limited technical information collected automatically by our websites and service providers.

Information You Provide Directly

Depending on how you interact with GJR Literacy, this may include:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your school, district, employer, or organization

  • Your professional role or title

  • Information submitted through contact or inquiry forms

  • Information included in emails or other communications

  • Newsletter and course-update preferences

  • Account information used to access the course platform

  • Billing and transaction information related to a purchase

School inquiry forms may also ask for information such as:

  • School or organization name

  • School website

  • Approximate number of students served

  • Grades served

  • Professional-learning goals

  • Reading or instructional challenges

  • How you heard about GJR Literacy

Please do not submit medical records, psychological records, detailed disability documentation, or other highly sensitive student records through a general website form or ordinary email. For family-support services, GJR Literacy may receive educational records, assessments, or other student information that a parent, guardian, school, or responsible adult chooses to provide. GJR Literacy will discuss an appropriate method before those materials are shared, and a separate agreement may provide additional terms for that service.

Course and Account Information

When you create a Thinkific account, purchase a course, or participate in course content, we may receive or have access to information such as:

  • Courses purchased or assigned

  • Enrollment and account status

  • Course progress and completion percentage

  • Lessons viewed or completed

  • Certificate and professional-development-hour records

  • Sign-in and account activity

  • Technical-support requests

  • Refund or transaction status

Information Collected Automatically

Squarespace, Thinkific, and related service providers may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, including:

  • IP address

  • Browser and device type

  • Operating system

  • Approximate geographic location

  • Pages viewed

  • Referring website

  • Dates and times of visits

  • Course-platform activity

  • Cookie and session identifiers

  • Website performance and interaction data

GJR Literacy may use website analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the websites. These tools measure aggregate activity such as pages viewed, referring sources, and general location. They are not used to build advertising profiles.

GJR Literacy does not use third-party advertising pixels, retargeting tools, or behavioral advertising technologies.

Squarespace and Thinkific also collect limited technical and usage information as part of their built-in website, security, account, and platform functions.

2. Payment Information

Course purchases and other online payments may be processed through Thinkific and its associated payment provider, or another third-party payment provider.

The payment provider may collect information directly from you, including:

  • Name

  • Billing address

  • Payment-card or bank information

  • Transaction details

  • Device and fraud-prevention information

The payment provider's own terms and privacy policy govern its handling of this information.

GJR Literacy may receive transaction confirmations, purchase amounts, customer contact information, payment status, and refund records. GJR Literacy generally does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Create and manage course accounts

  • Process purchases and maintain transaction records

  • Provide access to courses and downloadable materials

  • Track course participation and completion

  • Issue and maintain certificate records

GJR Literacy does not currently:

  • Use third-party advertising pixels

  • Sell or rent personal information for advertising purposes

If these practices change, this Privacy Policy and the website's cookie controls should be updated before the new tools are activated.

  • Google Workspace for business email and communications

These providers may process personal information on our behalf or collect information directly under their own privacy policies.

We disclose only the information reasonably necessary for a provider to perform the service for which it is used.

  • To a school, district, employer, or organization that purchased or assigned course access, where appropriate

  • To protect GJR Literacy, its customers, students, clients, or others

9. School and Team Purchases

If a school, district, employer, or other organization purchases course access for a group, that organization may provide participant information to GJR Literacy.

The purchasing organization may receive limited information reasonably connected to administering the purchase, such as:

  • Whether a participant's account has been activated

  • Course enrollment status

  • Course completion

  • Certificate status

Any reporting beyond basic purchase, enrollment, or completion information may be addressed in a separate agreement with the purchasing organization.

The organization purchasing access is responsible for having an appropriate basis to provide participant information to GJR Literacy.

10. Children's Privacy

GJR Literacy's websites, course purchases, email lists, and Thinkific accounts are intended for adults.

Children under the age of 13 should not:

  • Create a course account

  • Purchase a course

  • Subscribe to marketing emails

  • Submit personal information directly through the websites

  • Submit website inquiry forms without adult involvement

GJR Literacy may provide literacy support involving children or adolescents when those services are arranged by:

  • A parent or legal guardian

  • A school or district

  • Another responsible adult or organization

In those circumstances, the responsible adult should handle website forms, accounts, purchases, and communications.

If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information directly through the websites without appropriate adult involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

11. Information Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide course access

  • Maintain course-completion and certificate records

  • Process purchases and maintain required financial records

  • Respond to inquiries and communications

  • Protect accounts, services, and materials

Different categories of information may be kept for different periods.

For example:

  • Marketing information may be retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion

GJR Literacy is based in the United States.

Squarespace, Thinkific, payment providers, email providers, and their subprocessors may store or process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.
